Welcome
to Athens Baby Space!
Our
mission is to increase the
number of doulas currently available in the Athens, Georgia region
while educating new parents-to-be about the benefits of having a doula
during and after the birth of their baby.
Postpartum Depression Support Group
P.A.C.E. (Postnatal
Psychiatric Disorders Acceptance through Compassion and Education)
supports moms caught unexpectedly by PPD. Our mission is to empower
women and loved ones affected by Postnatal Psychiatric Disorders
through support and education by providing a safe and compassionate
forum for frank discussion with both survivors and those currently
affected.
We plan to support and link women who are currently affected as well as
survivors of postpartum depression through an open peer based support
group and a mentor program. P.A.C.E. is not designed to replace
traditional therapy and should be considered as a supplement only.
Support group meetings begin on January 9, 2006 at Nuci’s Space
on Oconee Street in Athens, GA. The group will run from 7:00p.m. until
9:00p.m. Meetings will continue every month on the second and fourth
Tuesday of the month. There is no membership fee and no charge for
attending the meetings.
